The P10R is very important in the history of Jensen speakers. Its shimmering, yet throaty and vibrant tone is one of the signatures of the Tweed era and inspired the start-up of the British tones. It was the first speaker reissued by Jensen, presented to a restricted panel of partners at the 1999 Summer NAMM show. The P10R is the speaker that contributed to the magical tone of the 4x10 Bassman® Tweed amps, the 4x10 Super Tweed Amps and the equally mythical 3x10 Bandmaster® amps.
Bought these to replace the four tired CTS 137-735 speakers in a '67 Fender Blackface Super Reverb amp that was recapped in 2007. These new Jensens sound very close to the CTS speakers and will only get better after break-in! Have experience with these P10Rs in three other amps and they sure didn't disappoint...very happy!
I compared these new Jensen P10R's to some vintage 1959 P10R's I had in my Fender tweed amp collection (Deluxes) We A & B'd them against the vintage P10R's and they sound IDENTICAL to the 1959 Jensen P10Rs!! Just what I wanted, good high end without sounding thin or harsh and a big tight bottom that only alnico can deliver...just an amazing speaker!! I put a set in my blackface 1965 Super Reverb and they sound incredible. Thanks Jensen!!
I built a deluxe reverb 2x10 combo and loaded a mix of the Jensen P10Q and the P10R together. All I can say is WOW... That has got to be the best combination of alnico speakers I have ever heard in my life!
I bought a pair of P10R's for a friend's Vibrolux as payment for a drill press I bought from him, I liked the sound so I bought a pair to go with my Fender Vibrosonic and my Peavey Delta Blues 210 and they sound great.
I purchased 4 P10Rs to put in a custom cab I built to reproduce a Bassman sound. I used some 40 year old pine I had in the garage and modeled it after my 59 Fender Pro. The sound quality is superb and just what I was looking for and the final cost was very reasonable. I'm thinking about building a 1 x 12 cab next.
I am pleased to say that my choice of a Jensen P10R and a P12R Alnico speaker return the 44 year old Gibson GA-30RVT to its formal glory. The Jensen Vintage speakers give a very rich and warm sound, exactly what I was looking for, Thank You!
I am currently using two P10R alnico speakers in my 1971 silverface Fender Super Reverb. The Jensen speakers deliver the bright vintage tone I had been looking for. Thanks, Jensen Speakers
I’ve modified a 1971 Bogen 10watt class A tube PA amp, now I’m putting the cabinet together. The thing sounds great with the P10R. I love the sound, the speaker is definitely what I wanted for this. I play an Electric mandolin, this is a big improvement.
I am collecting parts to build a Fender Bassman clone and will use P10Rs - they are my favorite speaker.
